Harrows Ocean Warriors Clean Up
An amazing turnout from the Harrows Ocean Warriors Group from Harrows School, Bangkok on their Clean Up The Beach Trip on Saturday 12th January 2019.
A staggering 230 people in total took part and ranged from the very small people to adults. It was great to see a lot of parents taking part with their children too. It reinforces the principles about taking care of our oceans for the future generations.
After a briefing about how trash impacts not only the environment but the marine life as well, we discussed the Top 10 items of trash food around the world. It’s amazing to see how many different views there are on that topic. The number 1 item is cigarette butts.
We collected well over a tonne of trash over the 2 cleaning sessions and although it was a lot of hard work, everyone was really happy at the end of the day that they made a difference. Our main trash found was fishing nets, old rope, a lot of plastic and a lot of glass.
Well done Harrows Ocean Warriors.
Until the next one, thank you Harrows, we appreciate what you do.
