Koh Man Wichai Net Removal 8th June 2019

Following on from our popular Mermaids PADI Women’s Day and the discovery of a net on the reef at Koh Man Wichai, Pattaya Islands, Thailand, we got a bunch of divers together and went off on a mission to the island to remove it. In the end we managed to get two nets up, so a little more than what we bargained for.

First up, we got a report from Matthews group, that they had found a big net at 12m which was luckily stuck to a rock and not the beautiful coral that is on this island. The net was brought back to the boat by the divers intact and happy to report that no marine life was in the net or any coral harmed. Second reporting was from Wayne’s group, that they had located the net found on our Women’s Day and they brought that up to the surface, they had to cut the net away and leave some parts of the net underwater as marine life had already started growing on it. Well done to Team Wayne, Peter, Izzy and Alois.
