Womens day dive PADI

Mermaids PADI Women’s Day 2nd June 2019

We love our PADI Women’s Days and to make sure we catch our local divers before they go away for the summer holidays, we celebrated an early PADI Women’s Dive Day with two great drift dives and a surprise PADI Project Aware Net Removal on Koh Man Wichai.

Our first dive was from the bay down the West Side of Koh Man Wichai, one of the Pattaya Far Islands. A popular dive site for it’s marine life and corals. Along the way we spotted a cute little turtle, big bag fish, groupers and beautiful soft and hard corals. Besides the divers, there was also ladies discovering Scuba Diving for the first time and some snorkelers enjoying the reef.

One dive team found a huge black net draped on the reef and they brought it up to the surface to be disposed of. In the net was a small stonefish and lots of crabs, but with some careful cutting on board the boat, they were all safely released back into the ocean.

After lunch, we headed back for another drift dive and this time came across an octopus, blue potted rays, crabs and a whole lot of rope wound around the corals, stretching easily over 30m. We couldn’t bring this one up so easily and it’s got growing marine life on parts of it, but don’t worry, we’ve planned a net removal day for Saturday 8th June to remove the parts that we can.

We’ve got the official PADI Women’s Day event scheduled for the 20th July for those that want to join us again or for the 1st time. You too deserve a pink T Shirt, they look gorgeous. Check out our facebook page for this event and more https://www.facebook.com/mermaidsdive/

Thanks to all our wonderful ladies who joined us on the day and the Mermaids Guys who looked after us so well.

Spread the love
